What Is IT about My Feet????

What Is IT about My Feet?

I keep banging them up.   This time I dropped a full one and one half liter of wine. And the bottle broke.. smashed all over the Liquor Store floor.   The clerk kept reassuring me they would clean up the mess... Never asked about my foot.   Although it is very black and blue there are no breakages... That is good..  I have been profiled as probably breaking a bone somewhere in the next ten years.

Now    what have I been sewing??

I have been working very hard at getting a couple of Modern quilts completed or at least a good start.   This picture shows one that will have a lot of negative space for free motion quilting.

I also have got deep into my scrap bag  ..  Cut the scraps in random widths and about 3 1/2 inches long and then sewn them to strips of fabric as in foundation piecing.  At first I sewed them on strips of paper, then realized how much time would be involved getting rid of the paper so moved up to old pieces of white fabric.   What will I do with these.    After they have been trimmed, I have a couple of ideas..  Time will tell.   But right now I have to sit with my leg up so the blood won't go to my foot.   Can't sew this way.   sigh

This last picture shows it trimmed to 2 1/2 inches....   I think the new ones in cloth will be trimmed to 3 inches.  That will sew them up at two and a half.  I need more background fabric...   Time to go shopping,

Dragonflies and Butterflies

This is a quilt I tried to machine quilt a few years ago. I made a real mess of it. So this year I took all the quilting out and I'm redoing it..  This week I worked on dragonflies, some  look more like gargoyles, and butterflies...   Mostly I'm pleased with how they turned out. It certainly is an improvement over what I had there before.

This is the cat of "Pat and the Cat"..   Her name is Callie and she is a great companion.

Right now she has fleas and I am trying to get rid of them with natural products..  She does not like garlic.  The rosemary solution didn't work..  I'm going to get some Mozi-Q which is the delphimium flower and try that.

Advantage doesn't seem to work on her...   I have heard of another product called, "Program", that I will try next.   Lots of fun

HI
New month here..
wow  the summer is going fast.
This month my mother will reach her 98th birthday and she is still going strong.

I have some pictures for you.  These are all of the same quilt.
Last year the Fabric Cupboard had a challenge to make 15 flying geese blocks each month.  Then they gave us a pattern to put them together.  I changed it a little bit and then quilted it to death. The blocks are all Free motion quilting and I did them as a quilt as you go.    I made a heart with Bill's and my names at the top and a vase at the bottom..  The vase is suppose to resemble two faces kissing.  I like the top of this quilt, but need to rethink the back and how I can make it look better on the next quilt.

It's been awhile since I've posted and I think it's time to start again.

This was my 2012-2013 winter's work.  The pattern or design comes from Leah Day's FMQ project.  This is my interpretation.  It is the rules I try to follow in my life..  Laugh often,,,,, Be kind....  Love.... Dream.....  Be Enough in Myself.........  Be Aware....... Maintain good intentions..... and Let Go of things, ideas, and people that won't change.   I'm not sure what I mean by the last one,  except  that I try to be open to new ideas and I want to be around that all the time.

This is totally thread painted with Isacord embroidery thread.  I believe size 40...   There are hours and hours of work on this project and I hope only I can see the mistakes.

Sore toe

The other day I was washing the dishes and I dropped a heavy pot cover on my toe....  It bled like crazy and Billy patched me up.
