Home in Bradenton

Callie and I arrive just now in Bradenton and I'm going to bed and sleep for a year.

No glutten episode today, so I had a better day travelling.  Tomorrow I will figure out how far I drove... too far,, but I hate tearing Callie out of a place when she just gets used to it..

She's going to have a ball here.  There's a brook or creek or something just across the small road.   and guess what..no snow.. and lots of palm trees

I'm getting the hang of this driving

Skipper, Virigina

I didn't make i to Savanah today..  Wasn't a great day to start off and didn't get better.

When I was all ready to leave this morning,  I couldn't find the cat.

Instead of  having legs on the bed they put wooden frames to hold the bed up...This is a situation I ran into last year where the cat got between the frame and the wall and I had to move the bed.

This year she put her thinking cap on and found that the box spring wasn't secured .  I mean the cover that goes over the bottom was gone... and she could get up in the box spring in the wooden fram that replaced the legs.  The bed was a king size bed and I had to move the mattress off,, and then lift one of the single box springs.  She wasn't there...  Moved the mattress back on and pushed it off the other way lifted the box spring and there she was... she said, "Ah!!!!! Shucks"

The snow is completedly off the road now,  It really diminished when I crossed the Delaware, but there is still some  in the fields.  Imagine snow in Virigina  I never knew.

Tomorrow's another day.  I may split the driving up into two days.  That will get me there on New Year's  Day..  That's ok   The stores will be open...

Gotham City is beautiful with the night lights

ok... What a day..  Abouut 800 km.  I am below New York City in a place called Holly.  It's 10:15 pm here and I just got off the highway.

Starting out the roads were snow packed and a little slippy,  ,  then they were bare except for blowing snow over the bridges..  In this area there is still some snow on the ground and piled a little on the roadside,  but the roads are bare.  Lots of traffic
Callie did good today.  She cried a little when I first started out and then gave up..  I didn't carry her cage into the motel tonight...(brought her in on a leash)  she did real good.  I'm going to make a travellor out of her yet.

Tomorrow I hope to get to Savanah.
Gotta go.. I need a shower.

On the Road Again

The weather looks clear so I am going to start out again..   After I clean off my car and do a little shovelling.  This is why I'm going south.  I hate the cold and all that goes with it. Especially cleaning off the car.

For some reason I can't get into Facebook..  I will try again later tonight

Callie is behaving, but pretty soon she's going in the cage.  She is just relaxing and here we go again upsetting her..

If I find the highway is not as clear as I want I will find another Motel and take another day off...  But it looks good out there right now.  I would say there is about 10 inches of snow in the snow banks around the car,,, so it's not too bad.

Storm Staid

A strom brewed up last night and I have decided to spend another day in Bangor.  The night clerk said it is suppose to be stromy until 8 pm.  So another night is a good thing.  I am right beside the I95 and they will probably have that cleaned well  in the morning.

I have lots to read and some food.  Got a wonderful cup of coffee from the office, so I'm good.

When I put my coat on to go to the office to pay for another night, Callie very casually went under the bed and now that I'm back she still hasn't come out.  Note to self,,,  Put Callie in cage before putting on coat..

Hope everyone at home is weathering the storm ok

1st Stop Bangor ME

Here I am in Bangot Maine.  6:00 pm Maine time and I have had supper.  The cat has finally settled down.  She was not a happy travellor.  Ron got the car all packed for me and I was on my way by noon.

Lots of snow on the ground in the MOncton area.  By the time I got to Saint John it was all gone. In Maine it came back.  The air is cold.  The poor lady at the border was dressedwarmly, but still looked cold.  It took about one minute to answer the questions and be processed through the border and then she said,  "Enjoy the sun."  I would have liked to take her with me she looked so cold.

Callie was upset with me all the way.  She would quiet down for a little while and then when she felt the car slowing down or turning a corner she would start up again,  I gave her a pill before I left, but maybe she managed to spit it out...  I'll be more careful tomorrow and make sure she gets it.  Once we got in the motel she just wanted to be petted, then she quieted down.

I can never find the right motel here in Bangor.  I print off a Room Saver coupon and then can't find the motel.  Anyway I got a good rate at the Super 6,  $40 and had supper for $10.  Had to gas the car  another $40.  So this was a good day.

Did I tell you Callie is not a happy travellor.

Till tomorrow

List of "TODO" Before I Travel

The days are getting short and it's almost time to take off.  Even the TODO list is getting shorter.

All the phone calls have been made...(The ones to let the businesses know I will  be away).  The fridge is getting cleaned out, laundry done and summer clothes and all my crafts and tools have been packed.
Callie is getting ecxitied...lol.  I wonder if she will ever forgive me.

All the parties are over except for Christmas Day and I still have a few visits to make before the final good-bye.  Then it's load the car, clean the shack, turn off the vampires, and hope for no snow on the highways.

See ya

Dentist Today

This is the last thing to do before I leave.  The car has been serviced, I have been serviced... That means pills renewed...  Just in case you're wondering .  The cat has be reluctantly to the vet and now I go to get my teeth cleaned.  My teeth always feel so much better for about 3 days after they have been cleaned and it takes me about 3 days to get over the chemicals they use in the office to sterilize the furniture and equipment.  I wonder if the trade off is worth it

No snow here today... Rain took it all away last night.  I have been lucky so far.. No major storms.  I bought shiney new summer tires when I got home last spring and I hope I can get away with them until I get South.

The Beginning

Today I will start a blog and it will tell of my travels to Florida.  I will be driving from my home on Dec 26, if it's not snowing, and have Callie, the reluctant traveller, in her cage in the back seat.

The reason I am waiting until the 26th is because my kids will kill me if I'm not home for Christmas.  Really I would like to go now... or after Tuesday... There's a neat party on Tuesday.  There's a party on Saturday too, but it's not a quilting party.  Quilting parties are fun.

Anyway this is a test run to see how my BLOG looks and see if I want to continue it....My life is not very exciting..  Bet you all ready figured that out when I said quilting parties are fun.    But they really are... A bunch of creative women in the same room... Many of them sharp witted.   Quilting parties are fun.

Enough

'till the next time
